Hello again faithful readers! I know this blog is on hiatus right now, but this is a bit of a special post. My good friend is working on his PhD studying the ecology of bees, and he and another student are trying to win a research grant to help further their research.

Bees are extremely important pollinators, helping our crops grow – an estimate suggests that one third of our food supply depends on pollinators, of which bees are the major contributors. Recently bee populations have been in decline, and we still don’t really know why. My friend’s research aims to try and investigate a part of this puzzle.

So how can you help? Simple – Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djFDj2hZAj4&feature=youtu.be

And if you would really like to help, share that video as much as possible, anywhere you can. The video with the most views by March 2nd gets $3500 for their research, which would be such a big help. I normally don’t post and share this kind of thing, but those of you who follow this blog regularly know how much I love bees. And they are so important to agriculture, so please support my friend! Help him help the bees!
